In the previous round Pyunik in case of a victory would have a good chance to increase the difference of the points with the nearest opponents but the match against Banants going in the top 3 ended in a draw, 1-1. However, it’s been already 7 matches our team continues staying invincible.
Also, in the last 11 matches Pyunik has become an author of a goal which is the best result over the last 9 years. A better result our team had in 2010 during the championship held in spring-autumn order when led by Vardan Minasyan Pyunik didn’t leave the pitch without conquering opponent’s goal throughout 15 matches.
In the next 34th day of the Premier League our team is expected to play, maybe, one of its toughest matches of the end of the championship. Pyunik will face Lori in its penultimate match.
The match against Vanadzor team which follows no goal in the championship is of a crucial importance for Pyunik and promises to be decisive for the determination of the champion. This season Lori along with Gandzasar-Kapan is one of the two teams that managed to win Pyunik twice. Moreover, in both cases Lori succeeded in away matches.
In the 7th match day of the last year, on September 11, Lori could decide the outcome of the match already in the first half. The opponent conquered our team’s gate three times during the first 30 minutes of the game and maintained the victorious score till the end of the match.
And in the match of the second round Pyunik managed to return from Vanadzor with 3 points thanks to Rumyan Hovsepyan’s goal.
The last match between Pyunik and Lori in the framework of the championship took place on April 7 of this year on the 25th day of the Premier League when Vanadzor team again managed to overcome our team being hosted. Pyunik was able to responded to Lori’s two goals only with a penalty kick unmistakably fulfilled by Rumyan Hovsepyan and suffered defeat at Republican Stadium. It is noteworthy that after that match Andrei Talalaev left the post of the team’s head coach. By the way, that day Pyunik celebrated its 27th anniversary of foundation at the Pyunik training centre.
In the current season Pyunik’s and Lori’s roads also crossed in the quarterfinals of the Armenia Cup where Lori as a result of 2 matches (0-2, 1-1) qualified for the next round.
Taking into account that this will be Pyunik’s last away match of the championship, let us stress again that in the current championship our team performs very successfully when being hosted. In 11 of 15 played matches Pyunik celebrated victories and drew 3 matches gaining 36 points. It is the best result among the participant teams of the championship.

Our team’s defender Kristi Marcu will miss Pyunik’s 2 last matches of the championship because of being disqualified.
