On the 23rd match day of the Armenia Premier League Andrey Talalaev’s alumni will compete with Artsakh at home. Our team approaches the upcoming match in a good disposition as in the previous match day Pyunik managed to gain three important points against Shirak in Gyumri and keeps on staying among leaders. At the present moment only Alashkert and Ararat-Armenia are ahead of our team in the standings and there is a slight point difference between them.
In the match against Artsakh Pyunik is considered the favorite. But the Premier League matches of this period prove that there are no weak opponents and our team’s footballers will try to spare no efforts to avoid losing any point in vain.
Pyunik and Artsakh have already faced each other twice in the current championship: on the 5th day of the Premier League our team gained advantage, 2-0, thanks to Rumyan Hovsepyan’s and Erik Vardanyan’s goals at Republican Stadium.
The teams’ next match took place on day 4 where Pyunik failed to find the key to the opponent’s goal and the performance ended in a draw. By the way, in one of the episodes of the second half of the match as a result of colliding with the rival our team's Russian goalkeeper, Evgeni Kobozev, injured his jaw and continues recovering till today.
Moreover, the match against Artsakh will be Pyunik’s 700th jubilee match in the Armenian Premier League.
