Pyunik secured their fourth consecutive victory in the league

In Round 18 of the Fastex Premier League, Pyunik hosted Alashkert at the Yerevan Football Academy. The two teams were sharing 2nd–3rd places in the standings, with Pyunik having the advantage in head-to-head results.

After heavy rain before the match, the pitch was not in the best condition, which made it difficult for both teams to display high-quality football. Nevertheless, the importance of the game was very high for both sides, and the match was played in a tense atmosphere.

In the 20th minute, Pyunik managed to open the scoring. Momo Yansane, receiving the ball from Eric Ocansey, used his speed to get past the defender and went one-on-one with the goalkeeper. After his initial shot was parried by Arsen Beglaryan, Yansane converted the rebound, sending the ball into Alashkert’s net — 1–0. The Guinean striker scored his third goal in just his second league appearance.

Two minutes before the end of the first half, Alashkert had a chance to equalize, but after Arsen Sadoyan’s header, Henrikh Avagyan made an excellent save to deny a certain goal.

The second half passed with almost no clear scoring chances, and Pyunik managed to hold on to the winning score, earning a very important 3 points.

After this victory, our team now has 35 points and temporarily moved to the top of the standings.

Pyunik’s next match will take place on March 21 in Round 19 of the Fastex Premier League, away at Armavir City Stadium against Alashkert.
