Samson Hakobyan started playing football at the age of 9. Three years later he moved to the Pyunik Academy. In the 2021/22 season he scored 32 goals, 27 in the league, becoming the top scorer. In the same season he scored 5 more goals in the Armenian U17 Cup and won the title. Hakobyan is also a player of the Armenia U17 national team.
