Pyunik drew with Lokomotiv Moscow

Pyunik’s month-long training camp in the UAE is nearing its end. On February 14, our team faced an important test, measuring their strength against Lokomotiv Moscow, who currently sit third in the Russian Premier League.

No goals were scored in the first half, while our players showed solid resistance against a strong opponent.

After the break, the Railwaymen managed to sharpen their attacking play through substitutions, but Henry Avagyan produced several reliable saves.

Zelimkhan Bakaev, who came on as a substitute, was particularly active for the opponents, and in the 82nd minute he won a penalty for his team, which was confidently converted by Dmitry Vorobyov.

Minutes later Lucas Vilela, also coming off the bench, delivered a cross from the left flank into Lokomotiv’s penalty area, where Maksim Nenakhov fouled Mikhail Kovalenko, and the referee pointed to the penalty spot. Daniil Kulikov stepped up and accurately converted against his former team — 1:1.
