The 2025/26 Fastex Premier League season has resumed after the winter break. The matches of the previous, 16th round had been postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions, including the game between Ararat-Armenia and Pyunik. However, all matches of Round 17 were played as scheduled.
In the final match of the round, Pyunik hosted Gyumri’s Shirak at the Avan Football Academy Stadium.
The match started very well for our team. In the 7th minute, Pyunik’s new signing Momo Yansane scored a beautiful goal with a powerful strike, opening his goal account in the Armenian Premier League.
Pyunik had a clear advantage and the game was largely played under the rhythm of our team’s attacks. In the 39th minute, Momo Yansane took advantage of a mistake by the opposing defenders and doubled the lead, scoring a brace in his first match of the championship — 2:0.
The picture of the game did not change in the second half, as Pyunik continued to control the initiative. In the 63rd minute, our team captain Edgar Malakyan sent the third ball into Shirak’s net, setting the final score — 3:0.
After this victory, Pyunik collected 32 points and moved up to 2nd place in the standings, closing the gap to the sole leader Ararat-Armenia.
Our team will play its next match on March 15, hosting Alashkert, who currently sit in third place, in the central match of Round 18 of the Fastex Premier League.
