Henrikh Avagyan’s Historic Record

Although in the crucial match for Pyunik against Ararat-Armenia Henri Avagyan’s impressive run of 6 consecutive clean-sheet games ended in the 24th minute. Our goalkeeper set a historic record.

In the current championship, Avagyan kept his goal unbeaten for 608 minutes. With this result, he became the best goalkeeper in the history of Pyunik. Henri Avagyan surpassed the record of the club’s former goalkeeper Grigor Meliksetyan, who had gone 600 minutes without conceding in league matches. The previous goal our goalkeeper conceded in the championship was on November 21 last year, in the 45th minute of the match against Urartu, following a shot by Bruno Michel.

After conceding in the 69th minute of the 120-minute “golden match” of the 2008 championship against Ararat, Meliksetyan then kept a clean sheet in the first 6 matches of the following season. He only conceded again in the 7th round, in the 10th minute of the match against Mika.
