Under Artak Oseyan’s leadership Pyunik started performing in the VBET Armenia Premier League 2020/21 being hosted by Ararat in the first matchday.

Having a game and territorial advantage, our team, unfortunately, conceded a goal in the end of the match and suffered a painful defeat, 0-1.

Despite that, our team left a good impression with its play.

Anton Kobyalko, Alexdandre Primael Yeoule, Artyom Avanesyan, Muhammad Yusuf Ladan and Stanislav Buchnev made their debut in Pyunik in the match against Ararat. The last two also played their first match in the Armenian championship.

Gor Malakyan and Artur Grigoryan, who had already had experience of playing for our team in previous years, played for Pyunik again.

Last time Pyunik started the championship with a defeat in the 2016/17 season when lost 1-3 to Shirak in the first matchday.

In the second day of the VBET Armenian Premier League Pyunik will host Urartu in its first home match of the current championship.

In 4 matches of the previous championship between Pyunik and Urartu the teams had two wins each.

In its first match of the championship our team celebrated a confident victory, 3-0, when being hosted and in the second round Urartu managed to take revenge, 2-1.

The next two matches took place in the framework of the relegation group for the 7-10 positions. The teams again won each other in away matches; Urartu again won 2-1 and Pyunik - 1-0.

Pyunik and Urartu also met in the 1/8 final of the VBET Armenian Cup where  fortune smiled on Urartu in the penalty shoot-out.

Let’s add that the Pyunik – Urartu match will take place at the Republican Stadium on August 23 and will kick off at 19:30.
