Healthy alumni: Pyunik FC starts cooperating with an otolaryngologist

Taking into account the importance of the healthiness of young footballers, Pyunik FC has decided to start cooperation with one of the best otolaryngologist in Armenia.

"Most of the children have breathing problems. In the future, this may interfere with their work and cause early fatigue, oxygen starvation, and, ultimately, may lead to various problems during training and matches," said Ashot Avetisyan, the head of Pyunik's Children's Football Development Program, in a conversation with the club's press service.

This month Pyunik FC started cooperating with Otolaryngologist Hayk Hovhannisyan, who represents Hospital and Polyclinic N 2. In the coming months, Hovhannisyan, together with the medical staff of our club, will conduct examinations among the 10-15-year-old footballers of our academy.

According to Dr. Hovhannisyan, problems related to shortness of breath have a negative effect on trainings. Children of this age who play football often experience nosebleeds, joint disorders and seasonal allergies as a result of hard trainings.

Dr. Hovhannisyan is convinced that thanks to the joint work with the club's medical staff, measures can be taken and solutions to various problems can be found at an early stage.

After diagnosis children with problems will be under the supervision of the club's doctors. If necessary, there will be drug treatment, and later, taking into account the age characteristics, the club will also organize the child's surgery.

"We, doctors, like to watch football during night shifts, and after victories we feel more positive energy and want our sport to reach greater heights. That is why we will spare no effort and try to make our contribution to the development of Armenian football," Hovhannisyan concluded.
