On the eve of the second leg of the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round against Tre Fiori, a pre-match press conference was held with FC Pyunik’s head coach Yeghishe Melikyan and midfielder Daniel Aghbalyan.
Daniel Aghbalyan, one of the team’s newcomers, first spoke about his move to Pyunik, the competition within the team, and the first match against Tre Fiori:
“Yeghishe Melikyan called me and offered to join, and I agreed. Everything went smoothly. There must always be competition in a team; it pushes players to grow stronger and win their place. In the first match, we lacked only one thing, a goal. Sometimes there are games when you just can’t score. But we’ve analyzed everything, and I’m confident we’ll win tomorrow.”
Head coach Yeghishe Melikyan emphasized that the result of the first match has no excuse, but the team is determined ahead of the second leg:
“Whether we were ready or not for that match, we had no right to lose. Thank God we still have a chance to fix things. Our goal is to overcome this opponent.”
“I can say the atmosphere in the team is healthy, and we have very good players. We just need a bit of time to show the football I want to see.”
