Lucas Villela leaves FC Pyunik

We announce that Brazilian midfielder Lucas Villela has left FC Pyunik as his contract with the club has come to an end.

Villela joined Pyunik in February 2023, transferring from Latvian side Liepāja. In the 2023/24 season, he helped our team win the Armenian championship.

In the summer of 2024, Vilela featured for Pyunik in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers against Dinamo Minsk, and later in the UEFA Conference League, where he helped the team overcome North Macedonian side Struga. Unfortunately, in the first match of the third qualifying round against Kazakhstan’s Ordabasy, Lucas suffered a serious ACL injury, which ruled him out for a long period.

On October 18 last year, in a Fastex Premier League match against Van from Charentsavan, Lucas returned to the pitch after 436 days. On April 6, 2026, in Gyumri against Shirak, he scored the winning goal — his first for Pyunik since July 2024, after recovering from injury.

Overall, the 32-year-old midfielder made 75 appearances for our team, scoring 7 goals and providing 9 assists.

We thank Lucas Villela for his years at Pyunik and his dedication to the club, and we wish him every success in the future.
