We are pleased to announce that 23-year-old defender Erik Simonyan has joined FC Pyunik.

Erik is a graduate of FC Urartu's academy. He made his debut for Urartu’s first team in June 2020 in the final round of the Armenian Premier League season against Pyunik.

Ahead of the second half of the 2021/22 season, Simonyan moved to BKMA. During his two years with the military club, he made 55 appearances and scored 2 goals.

In January 2024, Erik Simonyan returned to Urartu, where he played over the following two and a half years. Overall, the young defender made 45 appearances and scored 3 goals for the club.

Erik has also represented Armenia at U16, U17, U19 and U21 levels. In March 2021, at the age of 17, he received his first call-up to the Armenia national team, becoming the youngest player in Urartu’s history to be called up to the senior national side.
