Artak Oseyan and Hovhannes Harutyunyan’s pre-match press conference

Prior to the return leg of the UEFA Conference League 2026/27 second qualifying round against the Hungarian side Debrecen, a pre-match press conference was held featuring Pyunik's head coach Artak Oseyan and the team's midfielder Hovhannes Harutyunyan.

Hovhannes Harutyunyan noted that he is very happy to return to his home club and that they have prepared seriously for the second leg against Debrecen:

"I am very happy to have returned to my home club. The whole team welcomed me very warmly, and my impressions are purely positive. I must do everything I can to repay that with my performance.

To be honest, we have already forgotten the first match against Debrecen. We have prepared very well for this game, and we all believe that we can advance to the next round."

According to Artak Oseyan, the team did not deserve to lose in Hungary at all, and the only thing missing was the final finishing touch:

"As I already mentioned after the first match, it was one of those games where we definitely did not deserve to lose. Of course, it was a painful defeat, but I can say that the quality of our play allows us to believe that we are capable of overcoming this opponent.

As for the emotional aspect, yes, I think we have fully recovered and are completely ready to fight tomorrow to advance to the next round.

Undoubtedly, it is painful for us that Artak Dashyan will miss tomorrow's match. It will most likely take another two weeks for him to recover.

Definitely, the team has room for improvement in the frontline, especially considering the result of the first game. But first and foremost, we must play smart—shut down the opponent's strengths and then exploit their weaknesses. To achieve this, we need to act very wisely and with great balance in tomorrow's match."
