On September 20 of this year it became known that the refereeing of Alashkert vs Gandzasar-Kapan match of the 8th matchday of the Armenian Premier League has been entrusted to Artak Simonyan.

Football Club Pyunik expresses its deep concern and surprise on this occasion. On May 21 the FFA Refereeing Committee made a decision “to launch an internal investigation and to disqualify arbiter Artak Simonyan until the end of a thorough examination of the circumstances” on the occasion of a highly suspicious refereeing of Lori vs Pyunik match which was played on May 20 and had a significant impact on the determination of the championship winner. It should be noted that during these four months no information, public or non-public, has been given to the public or football clubs, as the primary beneficiaries of an impartial refereeing, on the course, completion and results of the above-mentioned internal investigation, as a result of which the refereeing of a Premier League match has again been entrusted to Artak Simonyan.

Making decisions in such a non-transparent way, not presenting the reasons for such decisions doesn’t inspire confidence in the refereeing corps in any way. Therefore, we urge you to inform the football community about the results of the internal investigation of arbiter Artak Simonyan's actions and the grounds for terminating his disqualification.
