After a short break in the matches of the national teams the Armenian Premier League Championship gets restarted.
In the previous matchday which gave a start to the second round of the championship Pyunik ended the match against Lori in a draw in Vanadzor, 2-2..
It was our team’s first draw in the current championship. Before it Pyunik had had 4 victories and 5 losses.
In the match against Lori our team’s forward Artur Miranyan, who already has 5 goals scored and shares the 2-4th places among top scorers, scored his next goal.
Let us note in the current championship Pyunik brought the number of his scored goals up to 18 thus becoming the most effective team of the championship. Instead, our team has conceded 20 goals and it’s the worst result after Yerevan which goes on the last position.
At this moment Pyunik places 7th in the standings with 13 points. In the first 10 matches of the previous championship our team had scored 18 points and in comparison with that period now it has 5 points less.
In the next round Pyunik will host Urartu which places next to our team in the standings.
Pyunik spent its first match of the current championship against Urartu managing to celebrate an away victory, 3-0, in the second matchday on August 2.
On the eve of the upcoming match defender Antonio Stankov is again back in Pyunik and a few days ago helped our team in a control match against Dynamo Moscow. Our team’s Alik Arakelyan, who had been missing for a long time after an injury got in the previous championship, joined that match too.
Let us add that Pyunik vs Urartu match will take place tomorrow, on October 20, at Yerevan Republican Stadium and will kick off at 17:30.
