Gor Malakyan | First interview

Gor Malakyan has given his first interview after the return to Pyunik.

"I got an offer to move to Pyunik. We worked with Artak Oseyan in Ararat-Armenia and after talking to him I made decision to return to Pyunik.

Artak Oseyan’s presence was an important factor in my decision to move as I have known him for a long time. Together we have worked in the national youth team, then in Ararat-Armenia. I can say that this circumstance played a decisive role.

During these years Pyunik has undergone significant changes. Both the whole management and players and coaches have changed. Very few people from my years in Pyunik have stayed in the team. I think this is a new team with new challenges and new ambitions.

We have been holding a training camp in Dilijan for a week. I can say that a good team has gathered here; there are good players both experienced and young ones. I’m sure everything is going to work out for us. We have to prepare well before the start of the championship and try to fight for the highest positions.

The Armenian championship has got quite strong; the previous two seasons proved it. Ararat-Armenia twice became a champion but the champion title wasn’t given easily to it.  The championship has become much stronger compared to the previous seasons.

I call on the fans to support us, come to the stadium if only it is possible due to the pandemic. We will try to make our fans happy with our play".
