Pyunik Academy plays a goalless draw with Shirak-2

In the second round of the 2025/26 Armenian First League, Pyunik Academy hosted Shirak-2 at home.

16-year-old forward Andranik Yervandyan, who is an alumnus of the Pyunik Academy, was included in the starting lineup of our team for the first time.

In the first half, Pyunik Academy had 3-4 real scoring opportunities to take the lead, but Valeriy Hambardzumyan, Aram Aharonyan and Aris Karapetyan failed to use the good moments.

After the break, Valeriy Hambardzumyan from our team created another serious threat with a long-range shot which touched the horizontal bar, saving Shirak-2.

After that, the guests had a good opportunity to punish our team for the missed opportunities, when Shirak-2 captain Emil Papikyan entered the penalty area from the left wing but after his shot, the ball hit the goalpost.

It should be noted that from the 60th minute, Shirak-2 played with 10 players, as Karen Harutyunyan was sent off.

There were no goals in the remaining minutes of the game, and a goalless draw was recorded, 0:0.

Pyunik Academy scored the same number of points in two games.

Our team will play its next game in the third round of the championship on August 19, visiting Noah-2.
