From April 4 to 9, the Youth Football Festival 2026 took place in Ayia Napa, Cyprus, where the U-11 team of the Pyunik Academy (head coach: Artur Manucharyan) also participated.
Pyunik-15-1 was placed in Group A of the “Eagles” bracket, where our team’s opponents were Cypriot sides Akritas, Aris Limassol, Galacticos Academy, and TOI Lakatamias.
On the first matchday, our team faced Galacticos Academy and suffered a 1:4 defeat. The only goal for our team was scored by Grigor Nikoyan.
In the second match of the day against TOI Lakatamias, our youngsters secured a 5:0 victory. The goals were scored by Sergey Ghukasyan, Aren Harutyunyan, Garik Grigoryan, Ruben Hayrapetyan and Samvel Hakobyan.
On the following day, Pyunik’s youngsters defeated Akritas 3:1. The goals were scored by Tigran Datumyan, Aren Harutyunyan and Garik Grigoryan.
Later that day, in the final group stage match, Pyunik-15-1 faced Aris Limassol, who, like our team, had 6 points after three matches. The game ended in a 6:1 win for the opponent, with Edgar Petrosyan scoring the only goal for our team.
With 2 wins and 2 losses in 4 matches, Pyunik’s youngsters finished 3rd in the group and advanced to the quarterfinals, where they faced Apollon Limassol.
The quarterfinal match ended in a goalless draw in regular time, and in the penalty shootout (5:3), the victory went to the Cypriot side.
Pyunik-15-1 concluded their participation in the tournament, but it proved to be a valuable experience for our young footballers.
