In the third round of the Armenian First League, Pyunik Academy hosted Urartu-2.

Prior to this match, Stepan Harutyunyan's team sat at the top of the table with 6 points from their opening two games, making a strong impression with their performance.

Our players created the first genuinely dangerous chance of the match: Valeri Hambardzumyan beat an opposing player and went one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but shot over the bar, squandering a magnificent opportunity.

After the break, Vardan Melikyan had two chances to score for Pyunik Academy, but Urartu-2 goalkeeper Nubar Gishyan saved his team on both occasions.

In the 66th minute, our team earned a penalty for a foul on Valeri Hambardzumyan. Hambardzumyan converted the spot-kick himself with confidence, scoring his 4th goal of the current championship.

However, Pyunik Academy was unable to secure a third consecutive victory. Two minutes from time, substitute Alex Manukyan restored parity for the visitors, making it 1-1.

With 7 points, Pyunik Academy currently holds 3rd place in the tournament standings.
