The 2026/27 season of the Armenian First League has kicked off.

Pyunik Academy, recently taken over by coach Stepan Harutyunyan, faced Ararat-Armenia-2 at home in the opening round.

The only goal of the match, scored early on by our team's captain Valeri Hambardzumyan, decided the outcome of the game and secured a 1-0 victory for Pyunik Academy.

Notably, goalkeeper Samson Hakobyan, defender Narek Badalyan, and midfielder Narek Hakobyan made their debuts for our team in this match. Samson Hakobyan particularly stood out, showcasing brilliant reflexes and making several crucial saves to deny the opposition.

Pyunik Academy will play its next match on August 10, visiting Mika in the 2nd round of the championship.
