Here is an interview with the newly appointed sports director of Pyunik Academy.

- Let's talk about your appointment

- I am grateful to the club management for trusting me, at this moment I have a great sense of responsibility.

- What will the club put stress on concerning children and their development?

- The development of a child as an individual is a priority for us. If we have one such footballer in the team, it can bring occasional success, and if everyone is like that, we will have global achievements.

- How to achieve the result you mentioned?

- First of all through training. The child must understand why he is doing the given exercise, get a sufficient answer. I can say that many years ago it was the exact opposite, children did everything mechanically, and it is vital for us to change it.

- You have been in Pyunik for 7 years and you know the strengths and weaknesses of the academy, will this help to start the process faster?

- You know, in football, especially among this age group, when you win, it doesn't mean that you did everything right, and when you lose, it doesn't mean that everything went wrong. I stress again that it is fundamental for us to develop children as individuals, as for the rest of the football issues related to the technical development of the child, coaching tactical flexibility and others, they are, of course, also vital.

- Let's talk about the importance of international tournaments for development.

- Of course, they help. I remember we participated in a tournament with Pyunik-2006 in Moscow, in the framework of which we played against CSKA Moscow, Lokomotiv, Dynamo. Taking the 3rd place in the group, I received a slap, but when we returned to Armenia, I saw courage, confidence and vigilance in the actions and eyes of my children, which speaks of a positive influence. It is also important that we get to know different football cultures.

- You talked about individuals, leadership and international tournaments. Do we have coaches who can implement your and the club's projects?

- All of us, as well as the management of the club, have regular meetings to discuss all these points. I know the coaches, I have worked with many of them for a long time, I think we will be able to achieve our goals.

On October 28, our sports director will leave for Rotterdam to participate in a course organized by ECA on the topic "Football development, football and the impact of its methodologies on the game".

We wish him good luck and many victories together.
