There will be no changes in the Pyunik academy: Arthur Soghomonyan

The owner of the Pyunik football club, Artur Soghomonyan, and director Kim Arakelyan met with representatives of the parent community of the Yerevan club's academy and assured them that no changes are expected in the sports school.

The Armenian businessman said during the meeting that they are currently negotiating with potential new owners of the club, but it is already clear that there will be no changes in one of the largest academies in Yerevan. Artur Soghomonyan will take on the responsibility of financing and organizing international tournaments for young footballers, which may greatly contribute to the education of the future generation of Armenian football.

Arakelyan added that the new owners also want to put the stress on the development of local players. After discussions with the head coach of Pyunik,
Yeghishe Melikyan, the leaders of the Yerevan team plan to include 4 to 5 academy players in the main team in the 2025/26 season.

Soghomonyan also explained that the decision to sell the club was made under duress due to the persecution of the Football Federation of Armenia, which seems like a personal vendetta.

During the meeting, Soghomonyan and Arakelyan also answered all the questions of the parents and discussed various topics.
